Activities have been organised for you as soon as lessons finish, so that you learn what Spaniards do in their free time and also to give you a chance to meet other students from theschool, making friends from all over the world.

Fashion-lovers will thoroughly enjoy this trip. It is the perfect opportunity to find out more about Elche’s main industry, footwear, thanks to one of the sector’s leading companies, Mustang. With its casual and modern designs, Mustang has become one of the most popular brands with young people.

For the more adventurous, we’ve prepared an unforgettable treasure hunt around Elche. The city will turn into a maze full of clues which our intrepid explorers will have to work out in order to find the dragon’s eggs scattered around the city. As well as being lots of fun, participants will receive a prize at the end as a souvenir for taking part in the competition.

Students who wish to do so can take in a match at the Estadio Martínez Valero, home to Elche Football Club. The team is currently in La Liga BBVA (Spanish top-flight) and as well as league matches, featuring teams of the calibre of Real Madrid, Barcelona or Atletico Madrid, the Spanish national team also plays there occasionally.

This excursion combines a visit to the Archaeology and History Museum of Elche (MAHE) and “El Huerto del Cura”, a stunning artistic garden of national interest. At the museum, students will discover how the city grew from its humble origins to become what it is in the present day. At “El Huerto del Cura”, full of palm trees and other native species such as lemon, orange and pomegranate, they will marvel at the Imperial Palm Tree, the jewel in the crown. It is a unique date palm tree, the only one of its kind in the world, with 8 branches.

The light and colour on display during the visit will take our students back to Moorish times, as buried beneath the Convento de la Merced lie the Arab Baths of Elche. A treasure we inherited from the Arabic people as a permanent reminder of their long settlement in this land.

We will take a trip to the footwear firm Salvador Artesano, which owns some of the most recognisable brands for young people: Wisconsin, Salvador Artesano or Dimo, amongst others. This will be a very interesting excursion as it will give students the chance to see how the shoe-making process unfolds, from the first piece of leather to the final end product which hits the shops.

A charming, traditional place, dedicated exclusively to one of our UNESCO World Heritages, the Elche Palm Grove. Here, students will learn all about the care and sowing of palm trees, their fruit, the job of the palmerero (a type of specialist gardener in charge of looking after the palm trees) and the diverse crafts that can be made from the trees themselves.

Another great day out organised by Top School is the trip to the Municipal Festa Museum. A truly magical place for all who set foot inside it. Those who do not get the chance to witness the Misteri D’Elx performance in person can discover all of its secrets at this specialist museum dedicated to making people who visit Elche aware of our second World Heritage.

For those interested in road safety, we have the option of visiting the Road Safety Education Park. Here, the local police will teach you how to drive safely on Spanish roads and streets. As well as that, you will learn Spain’s road signs and how to act in case of an accident or emergency.

For sporty types, we have something special for you. Elche boast countless sports facilities all over the city where students can do their favourite sports. At Top School, we want to encourage this and therefore we organize a sports day for those to wish to get into the spirit and take part.

Thanks to the lovely weather we have here in Elche, the city has numerous outdoor public swimming pools where students can go to cool off. In addition, the majority of sport venues also have indoor heated pools so that in winter, people who enjoy swimming can do so. This is one of the most popular activities on our programme.

Why not enjoy a day out at Clot de Galvany Nature Park? For nature lovers, this place will give you the opportunity to discover the most characteristic flora and fauna of the area. Their are walks and interesting lookouts from which to take photographs.

Municipal Festa Museum
