First day

Your first day of class at Top School in Spain

Placement test

The test will last approximately one hour and thirty minutes. The aim of the test is to determine how much knowledge of Spanish the student has and, subsequently, to place them in the appropriate level according to their ability.

What does it consist of? There are 4 parts to the test in which grammar and the four main linguistic skills are evaluated: Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking

During the course of the test, a teacher will be on hand to supervise the students, and are ready to clarify any doubts should they have any. The teacher will then proceed to correct the tests.

Placing students in the correct level

Once a mark has been given, each student will be placed in the group which is most appropriate, according to their level.

Should any student feel that they have been placed in the wrong group, for whatever reason, they should not hesitate to speak to their teacher about the issue. The teacher will then consider whether to move them to another group.

Our head of studies and the various teachers on our staff are available from Monday to Friday for whatever problem, doubt or query students may have regarding classes, teachers, the level of the course or teaching material.

Textbooks and materials

Top School’s teachers will provide students with all the class material and extra work to take home. The material used in class is dynamic and includes fun, enjoyable activities. Nevertheless, should any student wish to obtain further audio or reading material, they only need to ask and the teachers will be delighted to help and advise them on what to choose to maximise their learning.

On top of this, our teachers use audiovisual material and new technologies in the classroom and vary what they use (photocopies, books, audios, videos, the Internet, etc) so as to continually motivate and stimulate students throughout the course.
