Internship, visits to companies or professional seminars + Spanish course in Spain
The Alternanza Scuola Lavoro programme in Spain has been specifically designed for groups of Italian students, in line with one of the most important innovations of the Italian law 107 of 2015 (the Buona Scuola). This programme allows students to benefit from a teaching method based on the real labour world, training students to make an appropriate professional choice.
The ASL programme of Top School in Spain gives Italian students the opportunity to improve their level of Spanish, while establishing a first contact with the labour world and obtaining the necessary skills to get on in it with confidence.
For this purpose, they may choose a combination of Spanish classes aimed at acquiring basic professional skills, such as the preparation of a curriculum vitae, visits to certain companies of interest, workshops and seminars given by professionals with experience from different sectors, with an internship programme that allow them to experience the labour world firsthand.
In addition, doing the Alternanza Scuola Lavoro programme in Spain will allow Italian students to immerse themselves in a different culture, improve their skills in the Spanish language by acquiring vocabulary and fluency in oral expression and comprehension, and have fun exploring the city and its surroundings by participating in various activities and excursions of their choice.
The city of Elche
Elche is the perfect city to do the ASL program for many reasons. Considered the capital of footwear, Elche has an important manufacturing industry, as well as a great commercial, hotel and leisure offer, ideal for students to establish contact with various labour sectors of their interest.
With 250.000 inhabitants, a relative size and an excellent public transport network, students will be able to travel from one place to another with great ease, either on foot or through their efficient bus network, as the programme also includes a bus pass.
Elche is a beautiful city with a great historical and cultural heritage that has earned it three World Heritage Sites declared by UNESCO. In addition, having three universities, the city offers a dynamic environment, ideal for youngsters, and activities for all tastes.
On top of all that, Elche has an excellent climate all year round and is only 20 minutes from Alicante, with which it is excellently communicated, 15 minutes from Alicante-Elche airport and 10 minutes from the beach.
Spanish lessons
In order to adapt 100% to the needs of students and their accompanying teachers, our Alternanza Scuola Lavoro programme in Spain offers them the opportunity to choose the number of weekly lessons of Spanish they wish to receive, to choose between 10, 15 or 20 hours a week.
The classes will be taught in our school by teachers highly qualified in the teaching of Spanish for foreign students. The classes will focus on the development of communication skills to get on in the workplace, including preparation of job interviews, curriculum vitae and professional e-mails and role-plays oriented to the performance of various job functions. All this, of course, supported by the practice of all the main skills, acquisition of vocabulary and study of Spanish grammar.
Visits, seminars and internships
At Top School in Spain we know that the needs of each group are different. For this reason, our Alternanza Scuola Lavoro programme offers them the opportunity to choose the professional elements with which they wish to complement their Spanish classes:
· Visits to companies: Students will be able to enjoy visits to companies from different sectors, in order to know their internal structure and functioning.
· Workshops and professional conferences: Students will have the opportunity to meet people with experience in professional sectors of their choice, to know their testimony and even to participate in interactive activities that allow them to know firsthand the performance of their work.
· Work placements (only for students aged 16 and over): The most daring people will be able to immerse themselves in the labour world through an internship programme that will allow them to know the daily life of certain professional sectors (restaurants, hotels, shops, kindergartens, etc.).
Activity and excursion programme
In order to complete the experience, Top School in Spain proposes its students to do a social programme that allows them to know more about the culture and the Spanish way of life. The offer includes sports and outdoor activities, visits to museums and landmarks, and excursions to cities of tourist interest.
Accommodation
Students participating in the Alternanza Scuola Lavoro programme in Spain can choose between two types of accommodation: homestay or hotel.
Homestay
All our host families are native Spanish and will provide students the perfect environment for them to practice the language and experience the customs and lifestyle of Spanish people. All of our host families are located within easy reach of our schools and regularly supervised by our Accommodation Officers.
Hotel
If you aim at promoting coexistence in your group, the best alternative is accommodation in a hotel. Located close to Top School and with excellent connections to the rest of the city, it is the perfect option for a large group. Students will stay in double or triple rooms on a full board basis. All rooms are soundproofed and equipped with everything necessary to guarantee a perfect rest. In addition, the hotel also has a cafeteria and a 24-hour snack service.
