Getting to the Spanish school in Alcalá de Henares

Thanks to its strategic location, just a few minutes from the Spanish capital, Madrid, Alcalá de Henares benefits from excellent communications with the rest of Spain, Europe and other world capitals. Its proximity to the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas International Airport, its connection to the efficient Spanish railway network and its link to a competent road infrastructure, greatly facilitate access to Alcalá de Henares, which makes the town of Cervantes an ideal destination to study Spanish.

By plane

The easiest way to reach our Spanish school in Alcala de Henares from any foreign country is to take a plane to Madrid. Located just 25 minutes from Alcala de Henares, the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas International Airport is the busiest airport in Spain and is among the 10 airports in Europe with the busiest flow of passengers and among the 20 with more passengers in the world. The range of destinations available is very wide, as well as the flight options and schedules, so our students will have it very easy to get to our Spanish school.

The airport is very well connected to Alcalá de Henares through a bus network that operates regularly or a taxi service available at any time of day. It is also connected to the Madrid underground network, which in turn links to Alcalá de Henares railway station by commuter lines.

By bus

The centre of Alcala de Henares is connected to the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas International Airport is through a direct line of intercity buses, line 824. This service starts at 6:30h and ends at 22:00h approximately on working days, and their departures take place every half hour. At the weekends, the route operates from 8:30h to 21:30h and buses depart approximately every hour. The journey lasts between 40 and 50 minutes, and the price of a single ticket costs about 3,60 €, making it the most economical alternative to reach our Spanish school from the airport.

By taxi

The Community of Madrid has an excellent taxi service that will enable our students to travel from Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas International Airport to any point of Alcalá de Henares conveniently and quickly. There are taxi ranks in each of the terminals, from which you can hire a shuttle service to Alcalá de Henares which will last approximately 20 minutes and has a cost that can range between 33 € and 40 €, depending on the terminal of origin and the destination in Alcalá de Henares.

By underground and train

The four terminals of the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas International Airport are connected to the Spanish capital’s underground network via the line 8 (pink), which connects the T1-T2-T3 and T4 to “Nuevos Ministerios”, located in the heart of Madrid.

From “Nuevos Ministerios”, our Spanish school students may take the lines C-2 and C-7 of the commuter railway service to reach Alcalá de Henares train station, located very close to our school. The approximate duration of the whole journey from the airport to Alcalá de Henares is about one hour and 30 minutes, and the price of a single underground ticket is around 3,70 € and around 3,85 € for a single commuter train ticket.

By car

Alcalá de Henares is very well connected to the rest of Spain and Europe by road. The main route is called Northeast Highway or A-2, which connects Madrid and Barcelona, via Guadalajara, Zaragoza and Lleida. It is part of the European route E-90 which starts in Lisbon and extends to Turkey’s border with Iraq, via Italy and Greece.
